Supply Chain Manager

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Manufacturing, you will be responsible for supporting cross-functional project teams to ensure that our vendors are producing reliable biological and mechanical products. You will interface directly with our CMOs/Venders to ensure that there is no disruption to the supply chain while identifying strategic partners and strengthening those relationships. Additionally, you will help coordinate the small batch internal manufacturing runs.

The ideal candidate will be able have a proven track record in project management and working within matrix teams. Successful candidates will also have a technical and operational background, ideally in a GxP environment, experience interacting with CMOs, and a solid understanding of risk management.

Candidates should have excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, self-driven, and flexible to adopt to any new task as needed.

Key Tasks:

  • Serve as the primary contact and relationship manager to external manufacturing partners of Emulate.
  • Maintain the supply chain of products used by the Human Emulation System, including biological, metallic, and plastic components.
  • Gather input from other members of the Emulate team (including engineers, biologists, and designers) as needed to define product requirements, quality criteria, and demand.
  • Develop and manage RFPs
  • Monitor and review CMO performance
  • Travel as needed, to support site visits.
  • Perform periodic risk assessments of supplier network, communicate findings to leadership, and initiate actions to ensure no disruptions to Emulate’s commercial activity.
  • Schedule production and testing, and balance tradeoffs to ensure necessary inventory levels are maintained and supply is uninterrupted
  • Assist in contract negotiations
  • Recommend partnership/contract terms that provide the appropriate balance of flexibility and cost to align with the strategic assessment of program risk
  • Create SOPs as needed

Desired Skills:

  • BS in Life Science or Engineering
  • 5-8 years in the biotech/pharma industry, 2 years minimum in GMP environment
  • Project management and team guidance experience
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-pace environment
