This year’s keynote lecture will be delivered by David Walt, PhD, Scientific Founder of Illumina and Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School. In his talk, Dr. Walt will discuss how next-generation technology such as spatial biology, single cell genomics, and complex in vitro models are revolutionizing the way drugs are developed.
Some of the additional sessions to look forward to include:
- Cancer: Carly Strelez, PhD, from the Ellison Institute will share how she uses a patient-derived organoid-on-chip system to model the colorectal tumor microenvironment and cancer progression.
- Infectious Disease: Three speakers will highlight how Organ-Chips can be used to study viral and bacterial infection, including SARS-CoV-2, Nipah virus, and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
- Drug Discovery & Development: A panel of speakers from across the pharmaceutical industry will discuss the various ways Organ-on-a-Chip technology can be used to evaluate drug efficacy and ADME-Tox profiles.
