Answering the FDA’s Call: A Practical Discussion for the Implementation of NAMs in Pharma

February 10, 2026
5:00 pm — 7:00 pm EST

Boston Seaport

Synopsis

Join us for an evening of focused discussion, hands-on demonstrations, and networking to explore how NAMs are shaping the future of human-centric drug development!

As regulatory agencies including the FDA and NIH continue to accelerate the adoption of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs), interest in human-relevant, animal-reducing technologies has never been higher. At the same time, many researchers and organizations are still navigating a critical question: how can NAMs be practically implemented at scale within real-world drug development workflows?

To address this challenge, Emulate is hosting an exclusive open house event during SLAS week, bringing together pharma end users and technology partners to showcase how NAMs approaches—enabled by automation—can move from pilot studies to scalable platforms.

Event Overview

5:00 – 6:30pm: Networking & Technology Showcase

6:30 – 7:00pm: Fireside Chat

Networking & Technology Showcase

The evening will begin with a 90-minute cocktail hour featuring appetizers, beer and wine, networking, live product demonstrations (including the new AVA Emulation System), and a curated partner showcase. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with companies that collectively represent a ready-made ecosystem for scaling Organ-Chip and NAMs workflows, including:

  • FCDI – Highlighting the importance of a robust, scalable supply chain for high-quality, human-relevant iPSCs to support Organ-Chip adoption
  • Hamilton – Showcasing how automated liquid handling solutions can increase efficiency, reproducibility, and throughput for Organ-Chip experiments
  • ZEISS – Demonstrating how Organ-Chip imaging workflows can be scaled through advanced microscopy and how AI-enabled image analysis with arivis software can automate and amplify insights from Organ-Chip experiments
  • Biomere – Discussing how organizations can immediately get started with Organ-Chip studies through CRO partnerships if they’re not yet ready to bring the technology fully in-house

Together, these partners will be available to help educate attendees on how the infrastructure needed to support automation-ready, scalable NAMs workflows already exists today.

Fireside Chat: A Practical Discussion for the Implementation of NAMs in Pharma

The final 30 minutes of the event will feature a fireside chat with industry leaders focused on current strategies for leveraging NAMs and the future outlook for these approaches in drug development. The discussion will cover topics such as regulatory momentum, integration of complex in vitro and computational models, scaling through automation, and what pharma teams should be prioritizing over the next several years.

Who Should Attend

  • Pharma and biotech researchers exploring NAMs adoption

  • Automation, data science, and translational science leaders

  • Teams interested in scaling Organ-Chip workflows

  • Scientists looking for practical pathways to reduce reliance on animal models
